RECENT PROJECTS
I decided to break that rule about not updating my website...

Here's why I haven't been returning your phone calls the past few months.
These are the little projects that kept me busy.

JASON WISHNOW WINTER PROJECT 2008
TED IN THE FIELD   :   Episode 1

I WANT YOU TO WANT ME   :   (Interactive Art Installation for MoMA)

My friends Jonathan Harris and Sep Kamvar were commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art, in NY, to make a giant interactive video wall visualizing real-time data pulled from online dating websites.
I made 500 short films for them in one (very intense) weekend, "Rear Window"-style vignettes of people milling about in the tiny, isolated bubbles of their daily lives. This is a photo from the shoot:

The invite read, "Bring a Yoga Mat, Dress Like a Zombie" ...we had no idea how many real zombies would attend.

MAYNARD & JENNICA   :   The New Novel by Rudolph Delson

Apparently, people make trailers for books these days. Like movie trailers, only for books. I don't get it either.

TEDTalks

It can be difficult to choose examples of my favorite TEDTalks because I love all my children.
But as with real children, some are intrinsically more adorable than others. Here are a few favorites selected by other people:

JASON WISHNOW FALL PROJECT 2005
ICON CHEF   :   Designer Challenge (RESFEST World Tour)

It's not exactly a film, but I developed and hosted this event for RESFEST. In a single hour, two teams of top tier designers battled it out before a live audience to create both a movie poster and trailer for a high concept, Hollywood blockbuster of my own devising. Contenders included ILM vs PIXAR. A mix of design lesson, creative inspiration, performance art, and cooking show. Photos from Singapore:

SONY   :   Kinoma Media Player

At one time SONY was developing a portable video player of its own.

I miss you and I would dream of you if I ever caught enough sleep to remember those dreams,
and this is why I can't go back to Sundance until I've directed a feature.
